Once installed, draft a message like normal. Then, you can click Send Latera new red button youll see in your Gmail account once you install Boomerang. From there, you can select Schedule recurring message.

Here, youll have access to a recurring message menu, which you can customize with options relevant to you and your needs. You can set a start time and end time for the recurring period to get sent, choose days and times when the email should be sent, and of course, dictate the frequency .

Set An End When Appropriate

Most methods to create a recurring email give you the option to set an end time for the recurrence. For example, you can set an email to send out weekly for a period of 6 months. If you have this option, use it, and set a reminder to reevaluate the emails utility when the time comes. This way, you wont have a useless recurring email getting sent out forever.

The solution isnt obvious due to a flaw in the display of reminders but there is a way to continue seeing reminders for repeating tasks in Outlook. Heres the trick: Dont Dismiss Tasks!

The design of Outlooks Reminder window makes it easy to break recurring Tasks when you press the Dismiss button which disables the reminder for the recurrence of the task. You can still use Dismiss for repeating appointments and the reminders will remain attached to future appointments.

To get the reminder for the task to repeat, youll first have to mark the previous task as completed. Outlook will then automatically create a new task based on your recurrence pattern.

To mark a task as complete, dont pick Dismiss from the Outlook Reminder window. Instead, right click on the task and choose . This would certainly be easier and more intuitive if the Reminder window had a Mark Complete button or even a more generic Actions button.

Tip: Tasks have a checklist icon at the front while appointments have a mini calendar icon. You can still use Dismiss for appointment reminders.

Set Up An Automatic Reply

  • Select File> Automatic Replies.

    Note: For Outlook 2007 choose Tools> Out of Office Assistant.

  • In the Automatic Replies box, select Send automatic replies.

    Optionally, set a date range for your automatic replies. This will turn off automatic replies at the date and time you enter for the end time. Otherwise, you’ll need to turn off automatic replies manually.

    Note: If you don’t see Automatic Replies, use Rules and Alerts to set up your out-of-office message.

  • On the Inside My Organization tab, type the response that you want to send to teammates or colleagues while you are out of the office.

    Note: Sending automatic replies to anyone outside my organization will send your automatic reply to every email, including newsletters, advertisements, and potentially, junk email. If you want to send automatic replies to those outside your organization, we recommend choosing My contacts only.

  • Select OK to save your settings.

  • Turn off automatic out-of-office replies

    When Outlook is setup to send automatic replies, you’ll see a message under the ribbon with this information. Select Turn off to disable automatic out-of-office replies. If you want to modify the dates for your automatic reply or the message sent, use the steps above to modify your settings.

    Note: For Outlook 2007, to turn off out-of-office replies, select Tools> Out of Office Assistant and uncheck the Send Out of Office auto-replies checkbox.

I found this Microsoft tutorial that utilizes VBA code the send an email when a task is marked as complete. I create the new form with the code given and change the information to what I desire to include the addresses to send it to. Then I generate the task with the published form and set it to reoccur.
