Recover Deleted Emails In Gmail: Trash Folder

Google is well aware that it’s easy to accidentally delete an important email or to decide post-deletion that an email was actually more important than you first realised. For this reason, Gmail doesn’t immediately erase your emails when you hit the delete button. Instead, it sends them to a separate ‘trash’ folder, from which emails can be viewed and recovered as necessary.

The information governance and eDiscovery tool for Google Workspace enables users to retrieve data older than 25 days if it was subject to retention rules or holds. Deleted emails can also be retrieved from the Admin console, which lets admins restore messages that were permanently deleted from a users Trash within 25 days of deletion. However, after 25 days, the data is gone forever.
If you do accidentally delete an email and you haven’t cleared the trash yet, it’s worth heading to the trash folder and searching for the email you think might be gone for good. Of course, if you’re not sure what it was called or can’t remember any other information that may appear in it , you can browse through the entire folder.
