What Happens If My Email Gets Blacklisted
There are several potential consequences to your email being blacklisted. In many cases, your emails will be directed to spam folders, limiting the odds of your followers actually seeing them. However, getting blacklisted can also prevent your emails from being delivered entirely. Using an email and bounce checker is one of the best ways to prevent this from happening and to safeguard your sender reputation.

In verify the validity of an email address, our API will use a multi-layer testing algorithm comprised of several important steps:
- Email syntax verification against relevant IETF/RFC standards
- DNS validation, including MX record lookup
- Disposable email address detection
- Misspelled domain detection to prevent Typosquatting
- SMTP connection and availability checking
- Temporary unavailability detection
- Mailbox existence check
- Catch-all testing and Greylisting detection
Byteplants real-time online email validation API can be integrated into any web form and desktop or mobile application by sending a simple HTTP/HTTPS request to Byteplants API servers.
Our servers will return the result as a JSON object containing:
- Status, indicating the deliverability status of the email
- Info, providing a short description

- Freemail, a bool value that indicates if the email is a freemail address or not.
Byteplants real-time email validation API supports both single email validation and bulk email validation, engineered to process up to 100K addresses. Hence, virtually any use case scenario is supported. You just have to make the HTTP/HTTPS request to our servers and we will validate your emails list in real time.
Check If A Remote Powershell Session Exists
The first step is to create a Remote PowerShell session to Exchange Online or your on-premises Exchange Server. But before you do that, it makes sense to check if a session already exists. I use the EXO function to connect to Exchange Online, and the EXOSessionExists function to check if theres an existing session. If a session doesnt exist, it creates one.
You can use it for any other scripts or functions that require a RPS session to Exchange Online or Exchange Server. Add them to your PowerShell profile.
function EXO function EXOSessionExists ))}
function EXO function EXOSessionExists )) }
See Connect to Exchange Online using a PowerShell function for more info on these functions.
For on-premises Exchange Server, you can replace outlook.office365.com with your Exchange Server FQDN or remove the condition completely .

Email Verification: Free Or Sustainable
You have both free and paid tools to verify an email address without sending an email. The question is: which one should you use?
Free tools like our Free Email Verifier work well for verifying one email address at a time. If you just need a quick check on an email youve found somewhere else, or only send a few outbound emails each week, a free tool may work just fine.
In contrast, a paid option for email verification can make your outbound email efforts more sustainable. Instead of spending hours verifying email addresses before you ever send a single email, you can work automated verification into your workflow.
The question now becomes: what do you need?

If you tried every method and still failed to find an email address, here are a few tips you can use as your last resort:
Find A Commit By The User
Within the repository view, you can see a commits link on the left hand side. The photo above points it out. The more commits, the more likely to find a commit by the user. In this case we see 11 commits. All we need is to find a single commit to find the user’s email address. Click on the commits link to be taken to a commit history view.
When viewing the commit history your goal is to find one or more commits created by the profile owner. In our example, we are looking for commits by Linus . Once you locate a commit, you can click the commit ID on the right hand side to view the actual commit.

How To Use Email Validity Checker Results
With Byteplant, you will gain useful information regarding email address validity. For each email, our service will return one of the following results:
These results will allow you to decide on the right approach that will deliver the best results for your marketing campaign.
Here are some useful tips for you for interpreting your email verification results:
- If an email address is marked deliverable you can use these addresses for your marketing campaigns.
- If an email address is marked as suspect, you should use the status field to further investigate the reason. Furthermore, it is generally considered a good approach to segment these addresses based on the status field and handle them as you see fit.
- If an email valid is marked as invalid, there are two possible actions. If the result is returned by our real-time API, you could prompt the user to fix it and resubmit the form. If the result is returned by our batch service, you could either try getting in touch with your customer using other communication channels or just delete the address from your database.
- If an email is marked as indeterminate, you should take appropriate action based on the value of the status field. For example, if the SMTP address validation is still in progress, you should check again later.

Send An Email To The Address
Perhaps the most straightforward way how to check if an email address is valid is to simply send an email to it. Just write something like:
Hi, Im just checking if this email address is valid. If youre reading this email, please let me know.
If you send an email like this to an email address thats fake, your message will bounce back, and youll receive a message similar to the following one from your email provider:
Message not Delivered: There was a problem delivering your message to email@example.com. See the technical details below, or try resending in a few minutes.
Address not Found: Your message wasn’t delivered to firstname.lastname@example.org because the address couldn’t be found. Check for typos or unnecessary spaces and try again.
Just keep in mind that some email providers use something thats called a catch-all email address to catch email messages sent to incorrect email address.

How Do We Verify An Email
- First it checks for email address format.
- Then make sure that domain name is valid. We also check whether its a disposable email address or not.
- In the final step, It extracts the MX records from the domain records and connects to the email server to make sure the mailbox really exists for that user/address. Some mail servers do not cooperate in the process, in such cases, the result of this email verification tool may not be as accurate as expected.

Ping The Email Address To Verify It
This method of verifying email addresses is a bit more technical and time intensive. But the email owner wont know you did it.
So this technique can work well for people who only need to check a few addresses and also need confidentiality.
Here, all you need to do is check the mail exchange records of the email domain.
To check the MX records, type this command into the command prompt or Mac OS terminal:
nslookup -type= searchbug.com
This command will probably return a few results. There may be more. There may be fewer. But your results should look something like this:
From here, choose one of the servers listed in the MX records. Usually, one without an ALT tag is best.
Now, use these four commands to connect to the server and simulate sending an email:

Why Should You Verify Email Addresses Without Sending Emails First
The reason we check if an email address is valid without sending the email first, is because of email deliverability and to avoid hurting our domain reputation.
In short, if you send a campaign to invalid email addresses, it will result in a higher bounce rate. If you experience higher bounce rates, your sending score will start to go down. You might even end up being blacklisted.
An email bounce is any email message rejected by a recipient’s mail server and returned to the original sender. To put it simply, you get a bounce if you send a message to a non-existing email.
You might wonder what is an acceptable bounce rate in email outreach?
Our advice is to always keep it under 5%. And in a second we’ll show you how to do that. But first, a few more explanations.
Soft email bounce
A soft bounce refers to an email that landed in your recipient’s mail server but bounced back undelivered before it got into the inbox.
Numerous reasons can explain this bounce, including that the message was too large for the recipient’s inbox, their mailbox was full, the message does not meet the recipient servers policies, or the server was temporarily down.
Hard email bounce
A hard bounce happens when the email is permanently rejected because the email address is invalid or the email addresses dont exist.
This could be as a result of an invalid email address, an outdated domain, or an address that has fallen out of use, and in the worst-case scenario become a spam trap.
How To Check Email Addresses Instantly
Let me share an extremely simple method for checking if an email address is valid and exists or not.
Go to the login page of the email service and pretend that you no longer remember the password of your email account. The service will ask for your email address where they can send the password recovery instructions. Here if you enter an email address that does exist, the service is mostly likely to tell you that the particular user name does not exist. I have tested this with Google Apps, Yahoo Mail and Outlook and the method works with them all.
