Electronic And Digital Signatures
The terms ââ¬ÅElectronic Signatureââ¬ï¿½ and ââ¬ÅDigital Signatureââ¬ï¿½ are often used interchangeably however they are very disctinct concetps as “electronic signature” is a legal concept, whereas “digital signature” is a technical concept that is used to provide a concrete instance of electronic signatures.
In the eIDAS Regulation, and electronic signature is defined as “data in electronic form which is attached to or logically associated with other data in electronic form and which is used by the signatory to sign”.
An electronic signature does not necessarily guarantee that the signature process is secure nor that it is possible to track the changes that have been brought to the content of a document after it was signed. This depends on the category of the electronic signature. Indeed, beyond the concept of “simple” electronic signatures the Regulation further defines Advanced Electronic Signatures and Qualified Electronic Signatures .
A Simple Electronic Signature can cover a very broad range of data, such as a name written at the end of an email or an image added to a document.
An Advanced Electronic Signature is an electronic signature that has the following properties:
It is uniquely linked to the signatory.
It is capable of identifying the signatory.
The signatory has the sole control over the data used for the creating signatures.
It can detect whether the signed data has been modified since the signature.
Create A New Signature
Hit Ctrl + f or + f to open the search on page box > type in signature and hit Enter to find the signature editor in Gmail Settings.
Alternatively, you can scroll down the Settings tab and look for the section entitled Signature.
Find the Create new button and click it.

Edit Your Gmail Signature
You can edit your Gmail signature design with a few simple steps to make it look much more professional.
Change font size:
- Select the text you would like to edit
- Click on the tT icon at the left of the toolbar > choose the text size youd like to use
Change text color:
- Click on the A icon at the right of the signature editors toolbar
- Pick the text color youd like to use from the right-side color pallet
Change signature font:
- Click where it says San serif on the left side of the editors toolbar
- Choose the font youd like to use for your signature
Tip: To get the most professional signature, you should use both text size and text color to create a visual hierarchy. Set your name, job title, and company name as Large text, set your name in Bold or ALL CAPS, and use color to make important text stand out in the example image above we set the name, job title, and contact info labels in blue.

If you want a signature to automatically show up at the bottom of your emails, you’ll need to craft your signature once. Then place this into the section of Outlook settings that’ll automatically apply the signature to the footer of every email you send.

First, open the desktop Outlook application and select File in the menu.

Add Or Change An Email Signature
When you activate email signatures in Yahoo, a signature editor will be displayed. By default, it is empty, but you can use the tools provided to create your own simple email signature.
