How To Recover Deleted Emails In Gmail
Deleting an important email can be a nightmare. The good news is that Gmail has made it incredibly easy to undo this process. So simple in fact, that from the Gmail homepage you are only 4 clicks away from un-deleting the email.

- A second guide for recovering deleted Gmail emails from your mobile device.
Search For Messages Sent During A Certain Period
Suppose you remember that you had sent an email during the month of January 2007 but do not remember the subject line, email address or the name of the person to whom the email was sent. You remember the date, nothing else.
In that case combine the after: and before: operators to find emails sent or received during a particular time period.
Example: after: 2007/01/01 before: 2007/31/01 will search for all emails sent or received during the month of January 2007. Please note that dates are in yyyy/mm/dd format.
You can use the after: and before: operators individually as well.

What Is An Archive
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, an archive is a collection of historical records relating to a place, organization, or family. It’s also defined as a computer file used to store electronic information or documents you no longer use regularly.
Similarly, in Gmail, an archive is a repository of your messages that you don’t use regularly. Putting an email in your archive is storing it someplace out of sight and out of mind. But it’s still there if you need to come back to it someday. It’s like your basement, where you store items you don’t need but might use in the future.
When you archive an unread email in Gmail, it leaves your Inbox and gets stored under All Mail. It will also be deducted from the number of your unread messages.
To find your archived emails, go to All Mail in the sidebar. Alternatively, you can write in:archive on the Gmail search bar to show archived messages only.

How To Retrieve Your Archived Emails In Your Browser
Retrieving your archived emails simply means placing them back in your inbox.
To do this, go to All mail as shown above:
Step 1. Select the email or emails you want to retrieve back to your inbox. Emails that are already in your inbox are marked Inbox.

Recover Deleted Gmail Emails
There might be scenarios where you would need to recover your deleted emails, may be because you deleted them by mistake, or you never thought you would need them back.
but.. now.. you might be asking, Are deleted Gmail emails recoverable?
The answer here really depends on whether you are using consumer Gmail account OR Google Workspace account, are you a regular user OR Google Workspace Admin, which Google Workspace plan you have subscribed to
Let us see all these scenarios in details, and how they impact our ability to recover our deleted Gmail emails.
Delete Emails By Date
Now lets say that you want to delete only emails you received before a certain date. You need to first type the specific date in the search bar to filter out emails before that date. For example, if you want to delete all emails you received before January 5, 2019, youll need to type before:2019/01/05 in the search bar.
You need to type the date in the YYYY/MM/DD format.
All the emails you received before this date will be listed now. If you want to delete them all, check the box below the search bar and then click on the trash can icon next to it. If you want to delete these emails individually, only check the boxes next to the emails you want to delete.
Remember, these emails will go to the Trash now. If you want them removed forever, follow Step Four mentioned earlier in this article.
You can also search your emails by how old they are. For instance, if you only want to see a list of emails that are over a year old, youd need to type older_than:1y in the search bar. You can delete these emails in the way discussed above.
