Is There Anything You Have Ever Heard About Digital Safety Or Students Email Addresses Where Parents Will Say I Heard This
What I know for a fact and I’m sure most of us know this, but it’s that we cannot keep up with social media no matter what we do. Every time we look up, there is something new that is happening. A lot of parents are not tech savvy, even email wise. It also becomes an issue when the parents do not have tech access or internet access at home but their students do at school. Parents have no clue in many of these cases. âFelicia Meadows, Prince George’s County Public Schools
âI hear the, “Schools are out there and on top of it, managing everything and they want to manage everything.” The reality is that they are not and that they do not want to manage your child’s internet interactions. At the end of the day, they do not have the tools or the time to really address these issues that manifest themselves in the schools and so everyone wants to put the burden on the teachers and the principals, but people have to come together to solve this problem. The approach and the attitude to the responsibility around these types of communications have to change. We have to shift. âJeff Ervine, Bridg-it

How To Create An Apple Id For Your Child
Children under 13 can’t create an Apple ID on their own. But if you’re the family organizer, you can create an Apple ID for your child.
Does your child already have a Game Center account, but not an Apple ID? You don’t need to create an Apple ID for them. Just use your child’s Game Center nickname when you add your child to your Family Sharing group.

How To Check Your Childs Email From Your Account
As an added layer of protection, you can choose to receive and view your childs email on your account. Adding an account is not the same as email forwarding. The messages will remain in your childs inbox, but give you access to the messages via separate folders.
Messages You Will Receive
You should now receive any email messages that appear in your child’s inbox. Copies of those messages should also remain in their inbox so your child can read them. Gmail will not, however, forward messages to you that have been filed into the spam folder.
You also can set filters so you receive only certain messages. Depending on your agreement with your child, this is a way to give them some privacy while keeping your eye on particular emails. Whether you want to use this option is a personal choice, and it may change as they get older and gain more responsibility.

The Child Already Has An Account
If you receive one of the error messages below, the child probably already has an account:
- “We believe this account already exists.”
- “The text phone number that you entered is already used in an account.”
- “This church record number is already used in an account.”
In this case, click Sign in. Then, if the child has forgotten his or her username or password, do one or both of the following:
- To recover the username, click Forgot Username.
- To reset the password, click Forgot Password.
- If you have problems, it sometimes helps to switch to a different internet browser, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
What Kids Email Users Have To Say
I want to thank you for offering an email for kids service to families with children not yet old enough to have a ‘typical email’ service. My children LOVE being able to communicate with friends and family.
This is given our children ‘safe’ autonomy. Whenever they sign up for something or correspond with folks we dont know, it helps us keep the lanes of communication clear. Our 8 year old and 10 year old really enjoy it too. They share homework assignments with family too. Its a great tool worth every penny.
Ive been with Kids Email since 2010. I appreciate the how safe and fun the program is for my daughter and yet as a parent I have safety feature control and can see who is replying to her emails. This is a fabulous intro to technology for any child and so affordable too. Ive had a couple technical issues in the past and the support team was right on it and very helpful. Other emails are free but they are not safe email for kids!
I signed my 10 year old daughter up for the Kids Email as a product review and I love it. It gives her a safe email for kids address that I can monitor. There are so many different options available. I personally like the option that she can only receive emails from people on her contact list. If she gets a message from someone else, it goes to me and I can approve it or not. She likes the background options. Overall this is a great product. Thank you.

Start Creating Your Google Account
To get your child a Gmail address and other Google services that come with it, you’ll need to fill out a form to create a Google account. Though you may be limited by availability, try to avoid using your child’s full name. First initials and last name or a word that’s memorable would be preferable, but not your child’s name.
This can help protect their privacy and is a good rule to follow for any online username. Since you may want to access this account without your child present, make sure that you also take measures to remember the username and password.
Be An Advocate For Your Child
What does it mean to be advocating for your child at school? You do not have to be in defense mode to advocate. Remember, being your childs advocate means being their supporter, true believer, cheerleader, encourager, and fellow traveler. There does not have to be a negative situation in order for you to be their advocate. Being involved is being an advocate.
If your child brings something to your attention, you show empathy, discuss the situation, and decide if you need to act. Moreover, you want your child to trust that when they come to you, you protect them. This gives them the confidence to come to you.
If you have your childs interest at heart and I know you do, it has to be a partnership or the only one that suffers is the child. Teacher + Child + Parent = Academic Success
